Kicking Dirty Sponsors out of your Cultural Institutions

Since its 2010 run in with London’s Tate Modern museum, when curators unsuccessfully attempted to censor The Laboratory of Insurrectionary Imagination’s workshop that was critical of the museum’s sponsorship by fossil fuel giant BP, we have been involved in various campaigns to liberate cultural institutions from toxic corporate backers. This training is for groups that wish to launch a campaign against a cultural institution which needs to be freed from unethical partnerships.

The two day workshop explores the issues of why corporations use culture to gain a social license to operate, how to design effective actions and work well as a non-hierarchical collective.

This training launched Fossil Free Culture in the Netherlands and Libérons le Louvre Both groups have now managed to kick fossil fuel corporations out of major museums.
